What we collect
When you use AcademiWrite, we collect:
- Account data — email and hashed password (bcrypt). We never store passwords in plain text.
- Generation inputs — the topic, level, and options you submit. Used to produce your essay.
- Generation outputs — the essay we return. Stored so you can retrieve it from your dashboard.
- Technical data — IP (hashed), user-agent, approximate country (via Cloudflare), and language preference.
- Billing data — if you subscribe, Stripe holds your card details. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription state.
What we do with it
- Provide and improve the service.
- Enforce quotas and prevent abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your data. We do not train AI models on your inputs or outputs.
Third parties
To make AcademiWrite work, we share minimal data with:
- Groq — receives your generation input to produce the essay. See Groq's privacy policy.
- Stripe — processes payments. Receives your billing details directly (we never see card numbers).
- Cloudflare — serves our pages; may log IP and country for security.
Your rights
You can request data export, correction, or deletion at any time by emailing us. We respect GDPR, CCPA, and equivalent regulations.
Retention
Account data is kept as long as your account exists. Generation history is kept for 12 months, then anonymized. You can delete individual generations from your dashboard.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: a session cookie for login, a language preference cookie. No tracking cookies, no advertising pixels.
